Brendan Guildea – Barrister & Intellectual Property Law Lecturer

    Brendan operates a mixed legal practice throughout Leinster, including commercial and intellectual property law litigation. He lectures IP at Griffith College Dublin on both an Undergraduate and Masters degree level. He took an LL.B from Trinity College Dublin and a specialised LL.M in Intellectual Property Law from King’s College London. He is also an associate member of the Irish Association of Patent and Trademark Attorneys. 

     Presentation Title: Legal regulation of cryptocurrencies: the past, present and future

    Thinking of integrating cryptocurrency into your business? Buying Bitcoin? This talk will look at the development of relevant consumer, banking and finance law which now have to adapt to this new technology. We will also explore the technical limits of issues such as security and remedies, which will be required if things go wrong. Plenty of time for questions and answers too!
